Gantt Chart

What is the Gantt Chart?

A Gantt chart is a project management tool that visually represents a project schedule, allowing teams to track tasks, timelines, and dependencies at a glance. Named after its creator, Henry Gantt, the chart typically displays project tasks on a horizontal timeline, with each task represented by a bar. The length and position of each bar correspond to the task’s duration and start and end dates. This visual layout makes it easy to see the sequence of tasks, their overlaps, and any potential bottlenecks that could delay project completion. By identifying task dependencies, project managers can ensure that prerequisites are completed before dependent tasks begin, reducing the risk of delays and inefficiencies.
